Nexus
A matchmaking platform where developers pitch projects with exact role needs and find teammates by verified skills, with the feed's database round-trips cut by 90%.

Intended use
Good side projects stall because the right teammates never find them.
Nexus turns a social feed into a project marketplace. A pitch lists the exact roles it needs, and developers are matched by the skills on their profiles rather than by follower counts.
Architecture
Decisions
- Pitches are structured. Each pitch names its stack and open roles, which makes matching a query instead of a guess.
- One query for search. Multi-field skill search runs as a single Django Q-object query across models.
- Kill the N+1. The feed maps related records in memory first, cutting database round-trips by about 90%.

Limitations & next steps
- Matching is keyword-based; it doesn't yet understand that FastAPI and Flask are close.
- Next: embedding-based skill similarity and team-fit suggestions.
